Ethics

One of the reasons why people adopt a vegan lifestyle is because they feel that it is not morally justifiable to contribute to the exploitation, torture and slaughter of animals. Animals are sentient beings with feelings and desires, just like us humans. The question, therefore, is: what reason do we have to hurt these creatures?
Non-vegans may come up with lots of reasons: we need animal foods to survive; animals are not as intelligent as we are; we were born meat-eaters; and so on. None of these arguments hold up to scrutiny, as you will find in the links below and in the documentaries that are listed on our Documentary page.
